We have discovered that the biggest issue with buying leads is exclusivity. We make sure our contractors are the only ones to receive the leads as soon as a homeowner fills out their information. We email the lead to you and send an SMS (text message) to your phone with the homeowner info, so even if you are on a job, you will get the contact info and can contact the customer.

The other issue we found is lead quality. Many lead providers sell leads from very questionable sources: overseas call centers doing telemarketing, so-called "co-registration" - which means that somebody registered for another service (usually home insurance or mortgage), and on page 5 of the checkout process there was tiny print at the bottom of the page asking "Do you want to get an estimate for home improvement?", with a pre-checked box. Do you think that homeowner is really looking to do home remodeling right away and will be happy when you call them? Neither do we. Other leads from these lead providers come from sweepstakes, usually at fairs and festivals, where someone can sign up to win some fancy product, like a TV or a car, and they are asked for their information.

We NEVER get leads from any of these sources. What we think matters in lead quality is intent. Is the homeowner really looking to do a remodeling project or need a specific service right now? Then it's a quality lead. If somebody types "How do I find a quality Boston roofer?" - or a similar question in Google, they likely land on one of our sites. This is our only source of leads. Yes, we can probably make more money if we did the shady methods, but to us the most important thing is quality for our customers. We want to make you happy, by helping you grow your business. We want to keep you as a customer, and we can only do that if you like our leads. If we succeed in that, then everybody wins.
